Time for A wake-up call!
Hello? Is anybody there? This is your wake-up call notifying you that your body and mind are shutting down, literally! How many times have you been to your family doctor, and each time they tell you that you need to lose weight and start exercising?
For me, it was literally every time. You check your blood work, you check your urine, you get weighed and you go over your results of which each time you hear them, you always say; next time will be better. Today is the day, I will start living for me and plan my weight loss and exercise strategies. You go home with the depressing news, yet again. The Dr. puts you on some new medications, or starts you on some to begin with and encourages you to eat healthy and move your body more.
The truth is, the words go in one ear and out the other most of the time. Do you really consider finding a weight loss plan? No. Do you find an exercise program? No. Do you listen when they tell you that if you don’t do something now, you won’t live a long life? No. For most of us, we don’t like to hear this advice. It isn’t anything we haven’t heard before. They look at your numbers, they look at what your body from the inside is telling them, but you ignore what they say and always tell yourself, I will start tomorrow. But the truth is, tomorrow keeps coming over and over and over again.
You get yourself motivated and lose a couple pounds, only to gain it back and then some. You’ve gotten your wake-up call, but you can’t seem to find anything that works to keep you going.
Well I am here to tell you, that there isn’t any one weight loss program or exercise regimen that will work for you, unless you want it to! Don’t get so caught up in all the hype of “Diet” fads and exercise programs and lose sight of what is really going to help you in the first place!
There are no magic “drinks” or pills that are going to help you become healthy again. Diets do not work. That’s why the word “die” is in it. You must make real life changes to make anything permanent and last in your life. If you don’t start caring about yourself, and putting yourself first, then you won’t be alive long enough to enjoy your future. Your future grand-kids, your future vacation trips, your future friendships, your future pets, your future anything.
You owe it to your spouse and your children to make all the healthy changes you can; to live for you, but most importantly for you to live for them.
There is so much information out there now to research, that the choices for living longer and healthier lives have become so much easier to attain, to choose and to make permanent changes to live by. It is going to take challenging work, and sometimes you need a village to encourage you. But the most important thing is to take that first step and start for you and your future life!
Listen to your Doctor and your family when they tell you that you need to start making better choices. Don’t keep putting off those changes you need to make. The first day of recovery is always the hardest. But when you get through the first day, the second and third always come much easier. If you try something new and it doesn’t quite work for you, then try something else. Don’t get discouraged. Your life plan is not the same as everyone else's!
Your family’s needs may not be the same as yours, but they will all benefit from the healthy changes that you are making for yourself. Chances are they may need to make better healthy choices for themselves, and once they see you making the change, then you will be an inspiration for them to make changes in their lives too!
The benefit is YOU being alive for THEM… Think about it, make the changes today. Because all you have is today. Your wake-up call is now, time to answer!
Your future depends on it…
