Setting Goals!


… A goal without a plan, is just a dream…

As the season of giving approaches, now is the time to set your goals for your health happiness! What will your journey look like? What do you want to do to achieve your goals? Have you thought about what you need to do? Have you made a list and checked it twice? Have you thought about what goals you need to set for yourself?

Goal setting is easier to achieve if you have a plan. Writing down your goals is the first step!

Use the “SMART” goal setting system:

S – Specific – Which, what, who, where, when and why?

M – Measurable – How much or how many? (weight loss, how much exercise?)

A – Action oriented – Describe a result, what action will you take?

R – Realistic & Relevant – to you and your goals?

T – Time based – By when?

Once you figure out what your goals are, it gets easier to achieve them one by one, or as a whole!

Setting goals can be a useful tool for anything you want to achieve in life. From planning that Christmas shopping list, to how many days a week to exercise, to making a daily calorie intake chart, even to how many glasses of water you want to drink a day.

Once you make a list, you can check off daily what you have achieved. Making a Christmas shopping list goal? How much $ do you want to spend? How many people are on the list? What are their likes? Dislikes? What stores do you want to shop in?

How many days a week do you want to exercise? How much time are you allotting? What types of exercise do you want to do? Are you going to the gym, what days?

Making lists and charts of your goals is extremely helpful to help keep you on track in reaching all your goals!

Start with writing down just one goal and you are right on track with your journey! Achieving just one goal will give you the confidence to make and achieve so many more goals in your life.

GO FOR IT! Start the season off right, at the beginning, not at the ending! Don’t wait another day - start writing them down now!
