Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 lb. (16 oz.) package of Beef Shaved Steak
1 lb. 2 oz. package Egg Roll wrappers (20)
1 lb. American Cheese (need about 10 slices - halved)
salt, pepper, garlic powder
Oil for frying
Dipping Sauces - your favorite! Ranch, Ketchup, spicy, etc.
Directions:
In a medium sized skillet heat 2 T oil, Ghee or Butter. Add the chopped onion and fresh garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cook and stir until onion and garlic are soft and onion is translucent. About 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Break the shaved steak into pieces. In the same pan add a bit more oil, ghee or butter. Add the shaved steak and season with the salt, pepper and garlic powder. Cook and stir until the steak is no longer pink. About 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Arrange the egg roll wrappers on a flat surface (I use parchment paper underneath); take an egg roll wrapper with the triangle end facing you. Place 1/2 piece of the American cheese on the wrapper and top with about 2-3 Tablespoons of the steak and top with the onion and garlic mixture. (about 1 -2 tsp). You want enough for each egg roll so use your discretion on the amount you use! (20 egg rolls in one package)
Roll up the egg rolls according to the package directions folding up and tucking in the sides as you go. Moisten the end with water and seal. (Shown below)
Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet, or preheat a deep fryer to 375 degrees.
Fry the egg rolls in the hot oil until golden brown on all sides. About 5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve warm with ketchup and or your dipping sauces!
Makes 20 egg rolls! Great as a meal with sides or as a appetizer for a party!
