Ingredients:
· 9-inch pie crust (See my Nanas pie crust recipe)
· 1 ¼ Cups sugar
· 1/3 Cup Cocoa
· 1/3 Cup Cornstarch
· ¼ tsp salt
· 3 Cups Whole Milk
· 3 T Butter
· 1 ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
· Whipped Cream for Top
Directions:
1. Bake your pie crust or prepared pastry shell. (450 degrees for 10-15 minutes) or until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
2. Combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt in a medium sized saucepan; gradually add the milk, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil and stir 3 minutes.
3. Remove from heat, blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into a bowl and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface. Cool to room temperature.
4. Pour the filling into the pie crust and chill 3-4 hours until firm, or overnight.
Top with whipped cream!
